Bridgwater Town Reserves fight back to grab a share of the points

Bridgwater Town Reserves boss Luke Buckingham praised the character of his players after they came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with Bishops Lydeard.
Two goals from Connor Watts and a injury-time penalty coolly converted by Tyne Govier were enough to give Bridgwater a share of the points.
Buckingham said: “It was a very entertaining game and I was really pleased with the character that the players showed.
“Bishops Lydeard are a well organised side in this division but considering we had to keep coming back from goals behind it was a good point for us.”
Bishops Lydeard opened the scoring after 20 minutes but a superb run from Watts saw him cut inside a lash an unstoppable shot into the net to level the scores on the half-hour mark.
The side entered the break with nothing to separate them, but Lydeard took the lead again in the 55th minute after a long through ball was not dealt with.
Watts again equalised 10 minutes later as his predator-like instinct saw him bury a close-range effort into the back of the net.
With the game petering out, Lydeard looked to have stole all three points with a goal in the dying minutes, but Bridgwater were spurred on by skipper Sam Peppin and managed to win a penalty in the dying moments, with Govier stepping up to smash the ball into the top corner.
The team have no match on Saturday, but Bridgwater Town first team will take on Clevedon Town at Fairfax Park weather permitting. Kick-off is 3pm.
