Somerset snow alert tonight into Friday morning

THE Met Office have issued a warning of snow for the region from this evening (February 9) into Friday morning (February 10).
Somerset has been put on a yellow alert as an area of snow is expected to push its way steadily into the South-West.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Whilst there is uncertainty regarding where the heaviest and most persistent snow will fall, accumulations of up to about 10cm are possible in the worst affected regions.
“The public should be aware that, as a result, there could be some disruption to travel.”
Motorists are being urged to drive carefully and avoid travelling in the snow unless neccesary.
